Barangay Cagpile

Situated in Oras, Eastern Samar, Barangay Cagpile is one of 42 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cagpile had a population of 688. This made it the 21st largest of 42 barangays in Oras by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cagpile accounted for approximately 1.84% of the total population of Oras, which stood at 37,451 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cagpile changed from 813 to 688, a shift of -15.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Oras. Barangay Cagpile is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
