Barangay Cagtoog

Barangay Cagtoog forms part of Oras, a municipality in Eastern Samar, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cagtoog had a population of 525. This made it the 28th largest of 42 barangays in Oras by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cagtoog accounted for approximately 1.40% of the total population of Oras, which stood at 37,451 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cagtoog changed from 519 to 525, a shift of +1.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Oras. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cagtoog as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Oras is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cagtoog, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
