Barangay San Eduardo

Situated in Oras, Eastern Samar, Barangay San Eduardo is one of 42 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Eduardo had a population of 2,457. This made it the 3rd largest of 42 barangays in Oras by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Eduardo accounted for approximately 6.56% of the total population of Oras, which stood at 37,451 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,374 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,457 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Eduardo as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Oras is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Eduardo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Eastern Samar, which contains 597 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Eduardo ranks 15th by 2020 population.
