Barangay San Roque (Pob.)

Barangay San Roque (Pob.) is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Oras, located in the province of Eastern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Roque (Pob.) had a population of 2,237. This made it the 4th largest of 42 barangays in Oras by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Roque (Pob.) accounted for approximately 5.97% of the total population of Oras, which stood at 37,451 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay San Roque (Pob.) changed from 1,809 to 2,237, a shift of +23.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Oras. Barangay San Roque (Pob.) is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Oras is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Roque (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
