Barangay Upper Limonzo

Situated in Padada, Davao Del Sur, Barangay Upper Limonzo is one of 17 barangays that make up the municipality within Davao Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Upper Limonzo had a population of 2,958. This made it the 2nd largest of 17 barangays in Padada by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Upper Limonzo accounted for approximately 9.90% of the total population of Padada, which stood at 29,878 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,413 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,958 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +22.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Upper Limonzo is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Padada is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Upper Limonzo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Davao Del Sur, which contains 414 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Upper Limonzo ranks 66th by 2020 population. Barangay Upper Limonzo is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
