Barangay Balaoi

Situated in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, Barangay Balaoi is one of 16 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balaoi had a population of 1,980. This made it the 4th largest of 16 barangays in Pagudpud by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balaoi accounted for approximately 7.89% of the total population of Pagudpud, which stood at 25,098 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,934 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,980 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Balaoi is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Pagudpud is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balaoi, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
