Barangay Poblacion

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Poblacion is one of the administrative divisions of Pamplona in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 7,165. This made it the 1st largest of 16 barangays in Pamplona by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 18.00% of the total population of Pamplona, which stood at 39,805 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 6,191 residents to 7,165 residents, an intercensal change of +15.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Pamplona is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
