Barangay Balingit

Situated in Pamplona, Cagayan, Barangay Balingit is one of 18 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balingit had a population of 919. This made it the 10th largest of 18 barangays in Pamplona by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balingit accounted for approximately 3.71% of the total population of Pamplona, which stood at 24,781 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 872 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 919 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +5.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Balingit is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pamplona is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balingit, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
