Barangay Poblacion

Situated in Pangantucan, Bukidnon, Barangay Poblacion is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 12,722. This made it the 1st largest of 19 barangays in Pangantucan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 22.48% of the total population of Pangantucan, which stood at 56,580 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 10,970 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 12,722 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +16.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Pangantucan is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bukidnon, which contains 464 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Poblacion ranks 12th by 2020 population. Bukidnon is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
