Barangay Poblacion Ilaya

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Poblacion Ilaya is one of the administrative divisions of Panitan in Capiz, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion Ilaya had a population of 1,699. This made it the 8th largest of 26 barangays in Panitan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion Ilaya accounted for approximately 3.99% of the total population of Panitan, which stood at 42,565 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion Ilaya changed from 1,802 to 1,699, a shift of -5.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Panitan.
