Barangay Poblacion II

Situated in Pigkawayan, Cotabato, Barangay Poblacion II is one of 40 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion II had a population of 2,264. This made it the 11th largest of 40 barangays in Pigkawayan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion II accounted for approximately 3.13% of the total population of Pigkawayan, which stood at 72,371 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,719 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,264 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -16.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion II as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Pigkawayan is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion II, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
