Barangay Tigbawan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Tigbawan is one of the administrative divisions of Pigkawayan in Cotabato, SOCCSKSARGEN, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tigbawan had a population of 1,552. This made it the 15th largest of 40 barangays in Pigkawayan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tigbawan accounted for approximately 2.14% of the total population of Pigkawayan, which stood at 72,371 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tigbawan moving from 1,053 residents to 1,552 residents, an intercensal change of +47.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tigbawan as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Pigkawayan is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tigbawan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
