Barangay Banuyo (Pob.)

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Banuyo (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of Pilar in Sorsogon, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Banuyo (Pob.) had a population of 3,809. This made it the 1st largest of 49 barangays in Pilar by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Banuyo (Pob.) accounted for approximately 5.03% of the total population of Pilar, which stood at 75,793 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Banuyo (Pob.) changed from 3,637 to 3,809, a shift of +4.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Pilar. Barangay Banuyo (Pob.) is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pilar is a municipality comprising 49 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Banuyo (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
