Barangay Pang-ot

Situated in Pilar, Abra, Barangay Pang-ot is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within CAR.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pang-ot had a population of 591. This made it the 7th largest of 19 barangays in Pilar by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pang-ot accounted for approximately 5.82% of the total population of Pilar, which stood at 10,146 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pang-ot moving from 581 residents to 591 residents, an intercensal change of +1.7%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pang-ot as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pilar is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pang-ot, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
