Barangay Asinan (Pob.)

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Asinan (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of Pilar in Surigao Del Norte, Caraga, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Asinan (Pob.) had a population of 1,037. This made it the 4th largest of 15 barangays in Pilar by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Asinan (Pob.) accounted for approximately 10.00% of the total population of Pilar, which stood at 10,374 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Asinan (Pob.) changed from 950 to 1,037, a shift of +9.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Pilar. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Asinan (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pilar is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Asinan (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
