Barangay Pilaring (Pob.)

Barangay Pilaring (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of Pilar, located in the province of Surigao Del Norte, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pilaring (Pob.) had a population of 914. This made it the 5th largest of 15 barangays in Pilar by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pilaring (Pob.) accounted for approximately 8.81% of the total population of Pilar, which stood at 10,374 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Pilaring (Pob.) changed from 929 to 914, a shift of -1.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Pilar. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pilaring (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pilar is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pilaring (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
