Barangay Maasin

Barangay Maasin is a small barangay in the municipality of Pilar, located in the province of Surigao Del Norte, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Maasin had a population of 1,085. This made it the 2nd largest of 15 barangays in Pilar by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maasin accounted for approximately 10.46% of the total population of Pilar, which stood at 10,374 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Maasin moving from 1,084 residents to 1,085 residents, an intercensal change of +0.1%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Maasin is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
