Barangay Burabod

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Burabod is one of the administrative divisions of Placer in Masbate, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Burabod had a population of 1,017. This made it the 25th largest of 35 barangays in Placer by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Burabod accounted for approximately 1.81% of the total population of Placer, which stood at 56,340 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Burabod changed from 1,034 to 1,017, a shift of -1.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Placer. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Burabod as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Placer is a municipality comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Burabod, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Masbate, which contains 550 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Burabod ranks 364th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
