Barangay Libas

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Libas is one of the administrative divisions of Placer in Masbate, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Libas had a population of 813. This made it the 30th largest of 35 barangays in Placer by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Libas accounted for approximately 1.44% of the total population of Placer, which stood at 56,340 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Libas moving from 832 residents to 813 residents, an intercensal change of -2.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Libas is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
