Barangay Dangpanan

Situated in Placer, Masbate, Barangay Dangpanan is one of 35 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Dangpanan had a population of 871. This made it the 28th largest of 35 barangays in Placer by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dangpanan accounted for approximately 1.55% of the total population of Placer, which stood at 56,340 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Dangpanan moving from 856 residents to 871 residents, an intercensal change of +1.8%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dangpanan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
