Barangay Luna

Situated in Placer, Masbate, Barangay Luna is one of 35 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Luna had a population of 2,491. This made it the 5th largest of 35 barangays in Placer by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Luna accounted for approximately 4.42% of the total population of Placer, which stood at 56,340 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Luna moving from 2,651 residents to 2,491 residents, an intercensal change of -6.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Luna is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Placer is a municipality comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Luna, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
