Situated in Plaridel, Bulacan, Barangay Lagundi is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lagundi had a population of 4,962. This made it the 11th largest of 19 barangays in Plaridel by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lagundi accounted for approximately 4.34% of the total population of Plaridel, which stood at 114,432 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,243 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,962 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +16.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Lagundi is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Plaridel is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lagundi, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
