Barangay Parulan

Situated in Plaridel, Bulacan, Barangay Parulan is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Parulan had a population of 8,935. This made it the 3rd largest of 19 barangays in Plaridel by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Parulan accounted for approximately 7.81% of the total population of Plaridel, which stood at 114,432 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 7,590 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 8,935 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +17.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Parulan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Plaridel is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Parulan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bulacan, which contains 569 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Parulan ranks 107th by 2020 population. Barangay Parulan is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
