Barangay Jolongajog

Barangay Jolongajog is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Pontevedra, located in the province of Capiz, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Jolongajog had a population of 2,198. This made it the 11th largest of 26 barangays in Pontevedra by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Jolongajog accounted for approximately 4.42% of the total population of Pontevedra, which stood at 49,725 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Jolongajog moving from 2,056 residents to 2,198 residents, an intercensal change of +6.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Jolongajog as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pontevedra is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Jolongajog, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Capiz, which contains 473 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Jolongajog ranks 102nd by 2020 population.
