Barangay Kalanawe I

Barangay Kalanawe I is a small barangay in the municipality of President Quirino, located in the province of Sultan Kudarat, in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Kalanawe I had a population of 1,756. This made it the 11th largest of 19 barangays in President Quirino by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Kalanawe I accounted for approximately 4.16% of the total population of President Quirino, which stood at 42,244 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,750 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,756 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.3%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Kalanawe I as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

President Quirino is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Kalanawe I, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Sultan Kudarat, which contains 249 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Kalanawe I ranks 193rd by 2020 population. Sultan Kudarat is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
