Barangay Abut

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Abut is one of the administrative divisions of Quezon in Isabela, Cagayan Valley, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Abut had a population of 2,476. This made it the 5th largest of 15 barangays in Quezon by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Abut accounted for approximately 9.16% of the total population of Quezon, which stood at 27,037 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Abut moving from 2,568 residents to 2,476 residents, an intercensal change of -3.6%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Abut is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Quezon is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Abut, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
