Barangay Mabbang

Barangay Mabbang is a very small barangay in the municipality of Rizal, located in the province of Cagayan, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mabbang had a population of 475. This made it the 20th largest of 29 barangays in Rizal by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mabbang accounted for approximately 2.49% of the total population of Rizal, which stood at 19,077 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Mabbang moving from 510 residents to 475 residents, an intercensal change of -6.9%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Mabbang is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
