Barangay San Jose

Barangay San Jose forms part of Roxas, a municipality in Oriental Mindoro, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Jose had a population of 3,561. This made it the 8th largest of 20 barangays in Roxas by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Jose accounted for approximately 6.05% of the total population of Roxas, which stood at 58,849 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Jose moving from 3,305 residents to 3,561 residents, an intercensal change of +7.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Jose as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Roxas is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Jose, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
