Situated in Roxas, Isabela, Barangay Sotero Nuesa is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

This made it the 1st largest of 26 barangays in Roxas by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sotero Nuesa accounted for approximately 9.62% of the total population of Roxas, which stood at 65,839 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 6,139 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 6,336 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sotero Nuesa as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
