Barangay San Mariano

Barangay San Mariano is a large barangay in the municipality of San Antonio, located in the province of Nueva Ecija, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Mariano had a population of 7,271. This made it the 5th largest of 16 barangays in San Antonio by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Mariano accounted for approximately 8.75% of the total population of San Antonio, which stood at 83,060 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 6,582 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 7,271 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay San Mariano is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

San Antonio is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Mariano, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Nueva Ecija, which contains 849 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Mariano ranks 39th by 2020 population. Nueva Ecija is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
