Barangay Magkalungay

Situated in San Fernando, Bukidnon, Barangay Magkalungay is one of 24 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Magkalungay had a population of 2,463. This made it the 6th largest of 24 barangays in San Fernando by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Magkalungay accounted for approximately 3.91% of the total population of San Fernando, which stood at 63,045 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Magkalungay moving from 2,533 residents to 2,463 residents, an intercensal change of -2.8%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Magkalungay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Fernando is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Magkalungay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
