Barangay Ubos (Pob.)

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Ubos (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of San Francisco in Southern Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Ubos (Pob.) had a population of 1,005. This made it the 3rd largest of 22 barangays in San Francisco by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ubos (Pob.) accounted for approximately 7.48% of the total population of San Francisco, which stood at 13,436 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 994 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,005 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.1%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Ubos (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Francisco is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ubos (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Southern Leyte, which contains 500 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Ubos (Pob.) ranks 143rd by 2020 population. Southern Leyte is classified as a 3rd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Ubos (Pob.) is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
