Barangay Lapinigan

Barangay Lapinigan is a large barangay in the municipality of San Francisco, located in the province of Agusan Del Sur, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Lapinigan had a population of 5,324. This made it the 5th largest of 27 barangays in San Francisco by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lapinigan accounted for approximately 6.59% of the total population of San Francisco, which stood at 80,760 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Lapinigan moving from 5,150 residents to 5,324 residents, an intercensal change of +3.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lapinigan as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

San Francisco is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lapinigan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
