Barangay Igbangcal

Situated in San Joaquin, Iloilo, Barangay Igbangcal is one of 85 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Igbangcal had a population of 315. This made it the 62nd largest of 85 barangays in San Joaquin by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Igbangcal accounted for approximately 0.60% of the total population of San Joaquin, which stood at 52,617 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 385 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 315 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -18.2%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Igbangcal is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Joaquin is a municipality comprising 85 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Igbangcal, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
