Barangay Purok 1 (Pob.)

Barangay Purok 1 (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of San Joaquin, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Purok 1 (Pob.) had a population of 1,435. This made it the 9th largest of 85 barangays in San Joaquin by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Purok 1 (Pob.) accounted for approximately 2.73% of the total population of San Joaquin, which stood at 52,617 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,361 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,435 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +5.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Purok 1 (Pob.) is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Joaquin is a municipality comprising 85 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Purok 1 (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Purok 1 (Pob.) ranks 481st by 2020 population.
