Barangay Siwaragan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Siwaragan is one of the administrative divisions of San Joaquin in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Siwaragan had a population of 1,764. This made it the 4th largest of 85 barangays in San Joaquin by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Siwaragan accounted for approximately 3.35% of the total population of San Joaquin, which stood at 52,617 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Siwaragan changed from 1,639 to 1,764, a shift of +7.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in San Joaquin. Barangay Siwaragan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Joaquin is a municipality comprising 85 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Siwaragan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Siwaragan ranks 344th by 2020 population.
