Barangay Tiglawa

Barangay Tiglawa is a small barangay in the municipality of San Joaquin, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tiglawa had a population of 616. This made it the 28th largest of 85 barangays in San Joaquin by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tiglawa accounted for approximately 1.17% of the total population of San Joaquin, which stood at 52,617 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tiglawa changed from 648 to 616, a shift of -4.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in San Joaquin. Barangay Tiglawa is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Joaquin is a municipality comprising 85 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tiglawa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
