Situated in San Jorge, Samar, Barangay Cogtoto-og is one of 41 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cogtoto-og had a population of 348. This made it the 22nd largest of 41 barangays in San Jorge by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cogtoto-og accounted for approximately 1.98% of the total population of San Jorge, which stood at 17,579 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cogtoto-og changed from 430 to 348, a shift of -19.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in San Jorge. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cogtoto-og as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
