Barangay Guindapunan

Situated in San Jorge, Samar, Barangay Guindapunan is one of 41 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Guindapunan had a population of 472. This made it the 17th largest of 41 barangays in San Jorge by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guindapunan accounted for approximately 2.69% of the total population of San Jorge, which stood at 17,579 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 389 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 472 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +21.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Guindapunan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
