Barangay Galamay-Amo

Barangay Galamay-Amo is a large barangay in the municipality of San Jose, located in the province of Batangas, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Galamay-Amo had a population of 5,880. This made it the 2nd largest of 33 barangays in San Jose by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Galamay-Amo accounted for approximately 7.36% of the total population of San Jose, which stood at 79,868 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Galamay-Amo changed from 5,702 to 5,880, a shift of +3.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in San Jose. Barangay Galamay-Amo is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

San Jose is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Galamay-Amo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
