Barangay Moriones

Barangay Moriones is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of San Jose, located in the province of Tarlac, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Moriones had a population of 4,401. This made it the 5th largest of 13 barangays in San Jose by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Moriones accounted for approximately 10.69% of the total population of San Jose, which stood at 41,182 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Moriones moving from 3,705 residents to 4,401 residents, an intercensal change of +18.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Moriones as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Jose is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Moriones, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
