Situated in San Luis, Agusan Del Sur, Barangay Santa Rita is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santa Rita had a population of 349. This made it the 24th largest of 25 barangays in San Luis by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Rita accounted for approximately 0.99% of the total population of San Luis, which stood at 35,196 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 301 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 349 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +15.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Santa Rita is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
