Barangay Bagong Pag-asa

Barangay Bagong Pag-asa is a small barangay in the municipality of San Miguel, located in the province of Bulacan, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bagong Pag-asa had a population of 1,438. This made it the 48th largest of 49 barangays in San Miguel by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagong Pag-asa accounted for approximately 0.84% of the total population of San Miguel, which stood at 172,073 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bagong Pag-asa changed from 1,314 to 1,438, a shift of +9.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in San Miguel. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bagong Pag-asa as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Miguel is a municipality comprising 49 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
