Barangay Agusipan

Situated in Santa Barbara, Iloilo, Barangay Agusipan is one of 60 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Agusipan had a population of 554. This made it the 45th largest of 60 barangays in Santa Barbara by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Agusipan accounted for approximately 0.82% of the total population of Santa Barbara, which stood at 67,630 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 551 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 554 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.5%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Agusipan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santa Barbara is a municipality comprising 60 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Agusipan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
