Barangay Babuyan

Barangay Babuyan forms part of Santa Cruz, a municipality in Zambales, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Babuyan had a population of 555. This made it the 25th largest of 25 barangays in Santa Cruz by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Babuyan accounted for approximately 0.87% of the total population of Santa Cruz, which stood at 63,839 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Babuyan moving from 523 residents to 555 residents, an intercensal change of +6.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Babuyan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santa Cruz is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Babuyan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
