Barangay Damacuag

Barangay Damacuag is a small barangay in the municipality of Santa Lucia, located in the province of Ilocos Sur, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Damacuag had a population of 888. This made it the 11th largest of 36 barangays in Santa Lucia by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Damacuag accounted for approximately 3.42% of the total population of Santa Lucia, which stood at 25,966 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Damacuag moving from 779 residents to 888 residents, an intercensal change of +14.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Damacuag as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
