Barangay Nueva

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Nueva is one of the administrative divisions of Santa Marcela in Apayao, CAR, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Nueva had a population of 788. This made it the 12th largest of 13 barangays in Santa Marcela by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Nueva accounted for approximately 5.92% of the total population of Santa Marcela, which stood at 13,317 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Nueva moving from 803 residents to 788 residents, an intercensal change of -1.9%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Nueva as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
