Barangay Cay Pombo

Barangay Cay Pombo is a very large barangay in the municipality of Santa Maria, located in the province of Bulacan, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cay Pombo had a population of 32,674. This made it the 2nd largest of 24 barangays in Santa Maria by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cay Pombo accounted for approximately 11.27% of the total population of Santa Maria, which stood at 289,820 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cay Pombo changed from 28,947 to 32,674, a shift of +12.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Santa Maria. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cay Pombo as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Santa Maria is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cay Pombo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bulacan, which contains 569 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cay Pombo ranks 11th by 2020 population.
