Barangay San Roque

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay San Roque is one of the administrative divisions of Santa Rita in Samar, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Roque had a population of 184. This made it the 37th largest of 38 barangays in Santa Rita by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Roque accounted for approximately 0.43% of the total population of Santa Rita, which stood at 42,384 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay San Roque changed from 181 to 184, a shift of +1.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Santa Rita. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Roque as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santa Rita is a municipality comprising 38 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Roque, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
