Barangay Simbaluca

Barangay Simbaluca is a small barangay in the municipality of Santa Teresita, located in the province of Cagayan, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Simbaluca had a population of 577. This made it the 13th largest of 13 barangays in Santa Teresita by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Simbaluca accounted for approximately 2.95% of the total population of Santa Teresita, which stood at 19,573 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Simbaluca changed from 609 to 577, a shift of -5.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Santa Teresita. Barangay Simbaluca is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Santa Teresita is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Simbaluca, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
